About us
One team for the whole system: hardware, firmware, software and wireless, owned end to end.
Who we are
Kliskatek solves problems that need hardware, firmware, software and wireless to work together, across domains that are usually split between different companies, including the physical and control layer: sensors, PLC, mechanics.
Our team has spent more than 20 years working at exactly that intersection. That is the rare part. Plenty of teams know software, or RF, or sensors. Very few understand how those domains interact inside a single system, and can own the result instead of a slice of it.
Where we come from
Kliskatek was founded in March 2023 in the Basque Country by the engineering team behind Farsens, a battery-free RFID sensing company started in 2008 as a spin-off of CEIT. The idea behind it is older: it was born at Tecnun in 2005.
Twenty years, one idea
Sensing without wires or batteries. First the chip, then everything that takes the data where it needs to go.
- 2005
What if an RFID tag could sense?
At Tecnun, Andrés, a professor, suggests using the energy of the RFID reader to power a sensor inside the tag, with no wires and no batteries. Roc sets the technical direction, and about ten students take it on in their final-year projects. Put together, the pieces say it is feasible.
- 2007
WISEN and the first silicon
Four of them stay on for a PhD at CEIT, in a research project called WISEN (from Wissen, knowledge in German), Ibon among them on the digital design. The first samples of the analog front-end arrive, and with the digital part running on an FPGA they make the first demonstrator.
- 2008
Farsens takes it to market
Farsens is founded as a spin-off of CEIT to build the technology and make a living from it. Mikel joins on the sales side, and Ibon moves over in 2009, once his PhD is done.
- 2010
ANDY100
The first chip, named after Andrés: a battery-free UHF RFID chip (EPC C1G2) made to power and read external sensors. Andoni works on the RF design from the university.
- 2017
ROCKY100
With the European project Green TPMS, on battery-free tyre sensors, comes ROCKY100, named after Roc, which improves on ANDY100 in every respect. Aritz leads its digital design.

What we learned
To make the chips usable, we learned the hardware, the firmware and the software around them. And we learned the lesson that shapes Kliskatek:
“Customers don’t buy a chip. They buy the data.”
- 2023
Kliskatek: the whole system
A chip of the market where it fits and one of our own where none does, and around it, everything that takes the data where it needs to go: tags, readers, cloud, front-end and integration. Still hand in hand with the university: with P4Q and Tecnun’s COMMIC group we form the Chair in Microelectronic Design of Battery-Free Wireless Sensors, the final-year projects are back, and Eñaut stays with us.
- Today
From the sensor to the ERP
Our own battery-free sensor families, SenseID, SenseBLE and SenseNFC, and industrial systems that climb from sensors and PLCs to supervision and MES, integrated with the plant’s ERP.
What we share
SDKs on GitHub
Our SDKs are published under the MIT licence.
IWSA 2026Local host
Together with Tecnun (University of Navarra), we hosted the international workshop on wireless sensing in San Sebastián in October 2026.
Track recordWork we can talk about
The projects our clients let us name, and the rest without names.
Small, senior, and selective
The people you talk to are the people who do the work.
We are the right team when a project crosses domains and no single supplier will own the result, and we will tell you when we are not.
